Can I get an Emirates ID with my student visa?

When you come to study with us in Dubai on a student visa, it's important to be aware of what this visa includes and the regulations around local identification.

Student Visa: What You Need to Know

Our student visas are specifically designed to allow international students to enter and stay in Dubai for the duration of their course. However, these visas do not include or provide an Emirates ID, which is a form of local government-issued identification for residents of the United Arab Emirates.

Emirates ID: Local Government ID

The Emirates ID is an essential document for residents in the UAE, offering proof of identity, age, and residency status, among other functions. It's required for a range of activities, from opening a bank account to registering a car or accessing government health services. However, as a student visa holder, obtaining an Emirates ID is not part of the process, as the student visa does not confer resident status in the same way a work or resident visa does.

Navigating Your Stay in Dubai

While you won't have an Emirates ID as a student visa holder, your student visa is sufficient for your stay in Dubai for the purpose of study. For daily activities and requirements, your passport and student visa should serve as your primary form of identification.

If you have any questions about your visa status, what documents you'll need during your stay, or any other concerns about living and studying in Dubai, our administrative team is here to assist you. We're committed to making your study experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, from navigating visa requirements to settling into life in Dubai.
